The book Matthieu’s reading was written by his grandmother and originally published in 1981, when he was 10.
She was a great lady with a very unique perspective which she shared with the world in the form of novels, short stories, plays, and poems…
And lyrics.
When Matthieu was first in his early days as -M-, his grandmother tuned in to hear a radio interview in which he was explaining his stage personna; that inspired La Grande Andree to write a poem, which she immediately faxed to her grandson. That poem became the lyrics to “Je Dis Aime”. They also collaborated on “Bonoboo” (which Matthieu based on an earlier poem by Andree), “En Piste”, and “Je Me Demasque”.
More recently, Matthieu dedicated the song “Delivere Moi” as well as his “Les Saisons de Passage” concert film to his grandmother. She died February 6, 2011.
This is def worth sharing. :)
And here’s a full demonstration of what Tanagra can do; it’s a perfect example of Matthieu’s ability to turn a “what if” into an amazing reality.
Matthieu Chedid designed this guitar to have Wii elements - the pitch will raise or lower depending on the relative level of the neck of the guitar. Yes, it does work - and I have video to prove it. ^_^
By the way, the guitar was named “Tanagra” after the song from the “Mister Mystere” CD.
Nine days before this performance was recorded, the “Premise de Mister Mystere” mini tour was in Quebec City. July 9 & 10 2009 were my first two -M- concerts… such beautiful memories. ^_^ <3 <3 <3
